I wanted to create a runner that would help to draw people up through the winding narrow staircase to the fifth floor. I thought Dragonflies would be perfect all flying up the stairs, making the space feel magical and airy.
Revered for her gallerist eye and offbeat accents, acclaimed New York-based interior designer Kelly Behun debuts her inaugural collection for Abbotts. Photographed in Behun’s home and celebrating the city she calls home, the collection features three rugs drawing inspiration in both form and colour from Manhattan. Working side-by-side with Richard Rabel, our studio customised Adam Hunter’s handtufted Galaxy design in dark and moody tones to create the perfect grand entrance which carefully puddles at the bottom of the stairs as you walk through the front door.
